These are the questions to settle before you license ambient and meditation music for a product, a channel or a client. Every answer below is drawn from the published Aural Alchemy license terms. Read the full license before a release that matters: it is the document that governs. If royalty-free music is new to you, start with our introduction for YouTube, apps and courses, then come back here for the specifics.
How the license is organized
One rule sits behind everything: the music is royalty-free for you to build on. The license covers the finished work you create on top of the files. It never covers redistributing the original files as they are, free or paid.
From there, the terms depend on what you bought:
- MIDI packs, sample packs and construction kits are royalty-free for creative use, in commercial and personal music productions.
- Full ambient tracks and audio loop packs come in three tiers: Full Buyout, Commercial and Personal. Your receipt shows which one applies. Serenity Suite (Lifetime) and full-catalogue access grant the Commercial license across every audio product, current and future.
- Guided meditations and affirmation audio have their own Personal and Commercial licenses.
Your purchase receipt is your proof of license.
Which license covers monetized videos?
The Commercial tier. For full ambient tracks and loop packs it covers commercial video, film, ads, games and apps. The Commercial license for guided meditations covers monetized videos, courses, apps and podcasts. MIDI packs, sample packs and construction kits can be used in videos, podcasts, courses and livestreams. The Personal tier is for private listening and personal practice only, so monetized or public use needs the Commercial tier. If your receipt shows Personal and your plans have grown, write to admin@alchemyaural.com about an upgrade.
Can I use the music in an app or game that I sell?
Yes. MIDI packs, sample packs and construction kits can be used in sync licensing, film, TV, advertising, games and apps. The Commercial tier for full ambient tracks and loop packs covers games and apps, and the Commercial license for guided meditations names apps directly. The one rule still applies inside a product: the music is part of your finished work, and the original files are never resold or redistributed as they are.
Can I use it in client work?
For MIDI packs, sample packs and construction kits, yes: the license names client work and projects you produce for others. Fractals and 4K visuals can be used in commercial and monetized content, including client work. One limit to plan around: a license does not transfer to a third party unless a full buyout has been completed, so the license stays with you as the buyer. The Commercial tier for full ambient tracks lists commercial video, film, ads, games, apps, and wellness and meditation settings. If a client project falls outside that list, write to admin@alchemyaural.com before you deliver.
Can I use it in a paid meditation course or in classes?
Yes. The Commercial tier for full ambient tracks and loop packs covers wellness and meditation settings, along with commercial video and apps. The Commercial license for guided meditations covers monetized videos, courses, apps and podcasts, with no attribution required. MIDI packs, sample packs and construction kits can be used in courses too. One limit on the guided meditations: claiming the voice or the script as your own is not permitted.
Can I release the music on Spotify or Apple Music under my own name?
It depends on what you bought and what you did with it.
- Music you produce with MIDI packs, sample packs and construction kits can be released on any platform, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and other DSPs.
- Full ambient tracks and loop packs, Commercial tier: you can release finished music on any platform. When you remix, sample, chop, pitch-shift, layer or record on top, the derivative work is yours, under your own name, with no attribution required. Reselling the original unmodified audio is not permitted, and claiming authorship of an original Aural Alchemy file is not permitted under any tier. An untouched track uploaded as your own release would break both rules.
- Full Buyout tier: exclusive ownership. The track is removed from the store and from streaming after purchase, and master and sync rights transfer to you.
Can I upload the guided meditations to Spotify or Apple Music?
No. Uploading guided meditation or affirmation audio to Spotify or Apple Music as a standalone release is not permitted, and neither is reselling the files or claiming the voice or script as your own. The Commercial license for guided meditations is for use inside your own monetized videos, courses, apps and podcasts.
