The cards
Each progression is a glass card: its number, its chords, its key and bars, and the tempo. Pick one and the studio screen shows it as a piano roll while the keys of the controller light up with each chord.
‹ ›Step through the cards. The count shows which ones you see, for example 1-4 of 10.
View allOpens the full list of the batch.
A chordClick a chord on the selected card to hear just that chord, or to jump to it while the progression plays.
III
Listen on the Sanctuary synth
The row above the cards plays the selected progression on the real Sanctuary synth, with exactly the notes that go into the file, at 85 BPM.
Listen · stopLoops the selected progression. Click another card while it plays and that one starts from its first chord. The first Listen loads the synth, so it reads Loading for a moment.
SoundPick a sound from the row. Eight play free: Bare, Candle, First Light, Lullaby, Feather, Singing Bowl, Honey and Tide.
All soundsEvery Sanctuary sound, grouped by category. The ones with a padlock open with Sanctuary or the Serenity Suite.
VolumeThe listening level. The generator remembers your sound and volume in this browser.
IV
What you get
Every batch follows the same rules, so the progressions loop and sit well in a track.
KeysEach progression stays inside one major key, and a batch spreads its progressions evenly across the twelve keys.
Length4, 8 or 16 bars, with 2 to 6 chords.
Tempo85 BPM in 4/4.
LoopsEvery chord shares at least one note with the next, last back to first included, so the progression loops smoothly.
No repeatsNo chord repeats inside a progression, and no progression repeats inside a batch.
Chords onlyThe files hold chords, ready for your own melody, bass and sound.
V
All settings
ALL SETTINGS opens three panels.
Generation settingsThe number of progressions, the seed and Re-voicing, the same as in the bar.
BanlistUpload a .txt file with progressions to leave out, one per line, for example Cmin7 - Fmaj9 - Gmaj7. The status shows how many it loaded.
Voicing profileDefault (Tight Voice-Led), Wide (Cinematic) or Low Ambient (Prefer Lower). It shapes the chords when Re-voicing is on.
Chord type balanceOne slider per chord type, grouped in major, minor and sus families: 0 is off, 50 is the default, 100 is heavy. Reset puts them back.
VI
Inside the MIDI ZIP
The download is one ZIP, MIDI_Progressions_Aural_Alchemy.zip, with two folders.
ProgressionsOne .mid file per progression, sorted into 4-bar, 8-bar and 16-bar folders. The name tells you the number, the key and the chords, for example Prog_001_in_E_Emaj7-Amaj-C#min7.mid.
ChordsOne .mid file for every different chord in the batch, each 4 bars long.
Re-voicedWith Re-voicing on, the ZIP and its folders end in Revoiced.
In your DAWDrag a file onto a track. It carries the tempo, 85 BPM, and no instrument, so you choose the sound.
TipView all, in the cards area, shows the whole batch as a table with the number of progressions and of individual chords. It has its own ↓ MIDI ZIP button.

Questions
Is the MIDI Generator free?
No. It is a one-time purchase, yours for life once you own it. It is also part of the Serenity Suite. Before you own it, the page shows this card:
I bought it. How do I get in?
Use Already bought? Sign in, with the email you paid with. If you bought it from us on Gumroad before, sign in with that same email.
Are all the Sanctuary sounds included?
Eight sounds play free in the generator. The rest open with Sanctuary or the Serenity Suite. The sounds are for listening here; the download is MIDI, so you pick the sound in your DAW.
What do I need to use the files?
Any DAW or music app that opens MIDI files. Generating and listening happen right in the browser, with nothing to install.
Can I use the progressions in my music?
The MIDI Generator is made for your own tracks: drop the files into your DAW and build on them. The license page has the full terms for our MIDI.
Can I get the same progressions again?
Yes. Type a seed before you generate, and use the same seed with the same settings later.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The cards become a scrolling list and the buttons shorten to GENERATE and MIDI ZIP. On iPhone and iPad, open the ZIP in the Files app.
How do I get help?
The help page covers signing in, your library and downloads. You can also ask the assistant in the corner of this page, or write to admin@alchemyaural.com from the email you paid with.
